SPECIFIC BUILDING FOR TEACHING

Text by scribe Valdemir Mota de Menezes

I am reflecting on the school as a specific building for teaching and the whole structure to facilitate learning, and keep reminding me of ancient Greece when teachers (or philosophers) go out walking the streets and plazas while giving lessons. I remember the Jews who used their synagogues rabbis to teach Jewish children the first letters of the Torah. I am thinking of many schools in Africa where the teachers teach their students under some tree in those savannas.

In terms of infrastructure the school I am doing internship (State School Tarquin Esmeralda) is undoubtedly a good building and in excellent condition. This school has covered patio, sports court, dozens of classrooms, cafeteria, multiple bathrooms. The school is prepared to receive two thousand students, almost the population of a small town.
